Blades of Ether version 1.03 makes significant clarity adjustments to the text and adds a new quick reference sheet to the book, which contains at-a-glance information about critical mechanics for easy reference during gameplay!

1. The new Quick Reference Sheet was added to the end of the book after the character sheet. It collects information on the dice mechanics and the combat system, including concise summaries of movement mechanics, each form of attacking, and a list of all of the arts tags and their effects. This sheet is also now downloadable by itself from the itch. Please enjoy it, and let us know if there's anything you'd add to it!

2. An adjustment was made to the text of the darkness unique elemental effect Shadow Manipulation, clarifying that it allows you to choose what party member affected enemies will target for net successes turns, not choose their target each turn. This interpretation of Shadow Manipulation is more in line with original design vision and provides simpler rules and better tactical gameplay intrigue than the alternative (enjoy kiting enemies around the map!).

3. Various adjustments were made to the character creation chapter and the arts section of the combat chapter to clarify several things, including the costs of art tags at character creation and the nature of the "other" tags group. In particular, amendments were made to note that Precise Attack and Range +1 do not affect each others' costs or availability during progression and character creation. This update caused some content in chapter 5 to shift across page lines, but does not change the chapter's mechanical contents.

This is Blades of Ether's biggest update, even though it contains no new mechanical changes, and it is a very special update, because it comes after Kaylee and I's first chance to play the game in real life!
